We’ve been busy, busy.

We’ve put together a quick post to let you know what we’ve been up to here at C&C Towers over the summer months. We’ve had an intense period of work which is culminating in the release of three new client projects later this month.

Web Challenge Design with P2PU Mozilla School of Webcraft

Jamie’s been working with the School of Webcraft team over at P2PU over the last month as a Web Challenge Designer helping them create engaging learning experiences for aspiring web developers.

We can’t say too much about it at this stage, other than it’s really exciting and to watch this space.

Sport Study – Website.

Following on from the excellent feedback we have received from our work with TASS. We were asked to design and develop a search based website platform for talented young athletes aged between 16 – 19 years of age, looking to take the next important step in their careers.

The Problems to overcome

Young, talented athletes often have to juggle a difficult balance of training and competition demands with continuing their academic development and preparing for careers and life after sport.

Without the right level and type of information to hand, it can be difficult for such athletes to make informed education decisions, the result of which can often lead to inappropriate choices or drop-out from either their sport, their education, or both.

What we’re helping deliver

Recognising the need to develop a tool that helps individuals make the right decisions, TASS, in conjunction with SkillsActive has developed Sport & Study. This is a unique and comprehensive search and information centre that aims to match the personal circumstances and requirements of athletes to educational institutions which can cater for both their specific sporting and educational needs.

EAS – The Dual Career Network – Website

The main aim of EAS is to support European athletes who are combining high performance sport and education. Supporting the “dual career” means that the EAS-Network strives to optimise the training conditions for athlete/students but also that their future is secured by making it possible for them to get the appropriate education or vocational training, so that they have a safe platform to start from when their sports career is over.

Online hub

The website operates as a forum and central hub enabling members to easily share best sporting and educational practice between the 32 educational institutions involved throughout Europe.

The 7th annual EAS Conference is taking place in Newcastle upon Tyne later this month so it’s going to be interesting to receive feedback from all the different participants from across Europe on the end product we’ve delivered.
